Dr. Woodward received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York in 1979. In 1984 he received his doctorate of Optometry degree from the SUNY State College of Optometry in New York, New York. Before moving to Virginia in 1989, Dr. Woodward worked in two different ophthalmology practices and several retail optometry offices.

Dr. Woodward has been a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry since 1994. He is also a member of the American Optometric Association and the Virginia Optometric Association. Dr. Woodward has special interests in the areas of contact lenses, binocular vision disorders, and refractive surgery co-management.

Dr. Woodward joined Dr. Oppenheim’s practice in 1990 when it was called Hampton Roads Eye Center.  Five years later several practices merged into Hampton Roads Eye Associates.  Dr. Woodward practices in our Hampton location and enjoys improving and protecting the vision of his patient’s there.
