After wearing glasses/contacts for 15 years I made the decision to pursue refractive surgery correction with Hampton Roads Eye Associates in Hampton. I was a candidate for PRK due to dry eyes. Just three weeks after my procedure, my vision is clear and crisp! I dont ever remember seeing so clearly without the aid of glasses! Although the recovery after PRK was a little rough and uncomfortable, its totally worth it now that I am glasses free. Its amazing to wake up and see the numbers on my alarm clock without having to reach for my glasses first. Its nice to be able to lay on the couch and watch television without having glasses against my face. Its all of the little everyday things that I am noticing that really make difference. Dr. Oppenheim and the entire office staff exemplify customer service. They were all so supportive and thorough every step of the way from preopertive testing, the day or my procedure and the following appointments. I am loving enjoying my new vision and couldn't be more pleased with the experience I had as well as the care I recieved!

To All the Staff at Hampton Roads Eye Associates with special attention to Dr. Oppenheim: I just wanted to express my thanks and appreciation for the wonderful treatment and care you all showed to me following my recent PRK surgery (November 2009). Before I came into the office for the operation, I was very nervous and daunted by the fear of the unknown but you were all so kind and reassuring when I arrived this took away a lot of my apprehension. You demonstrated your total commitment into caring for me when I was helpless in the days immediately following the operation and also gave me the support and encouragement I needed to take my first steps on the road to “the sighted world” which meant so much to me. I’d like to particularly thank Dr. Oppenheim who provided me (as well as other patients) with his personal cell phone number. Further, I would like to thank the surgical team for their expertise in the operating theatre and for their post-operative support. I was referred to Dr. Oppenheim by one of his staff. I had been wearing contacts/glasses for well over 20 years. I was a candidate for both PRK and Lasik. Having researched both procedures on my own as well as watching the video during the consultation and also having Dr. Oppenheim's personal experience with both surgeries - I decided on Lasik. I am extremely pleased with my results. The next day I was seeing without contacts or glasses. I was totally amazed. I highly recommend Dr. Oppenheim and his staff if you are considering having Laser Eye Surgery.
