LASIK can be used to correct hyperopia, myopia, and astigmatism. LASIK has always involved two steps: first making a flap then reshaping the cornea with the Excimer laser. With the IntraLase FS Laser, or ILASIK , high-speed delivery of over a million tiny bubbles gently separates the layers of the corneal tissue and creates a customized flap of the desired thickness, size, and location. The Excimer laser reshapes the cornea and the flap is put back into place while the corneal tissue sticks to itself. With this technology, IntraLASIK is an ALL-LASER procedure.
